AI Visibility Consulting Services

Telstar’s AI Visibility work starts with one of three diagnostic engagements — a free Snapshot, a one-month Audit, or a two-month Intelligence study. Each stands alone. Start with whichever fits where you are.

What we do, and what we don’t

Telstar provides AI Visibility consulting — GEO, AEO, and LLMO strategy, content architecture, technical SEO audits for AI Search, and the website foundations that enable AI engines to find, parse, and cite a business.

We work with mid-market businesses in Connecticut and the Northeast across manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, high-end consumer retail, and other verticals where the buyer journey now runs through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Claude. The work builds on traditional SEO foundations — see Foundational SEO for what carries forward — and adds the disciplines that earn citations in AI-generated answers.

What we don’t do. Telstar doesn’t run paid media. We don’t manage broad digital marketing programs. We’re not an agency of record. We do one thing, focused, with a methodology built around being cited by AI engines rather than ranking against an algorithm. That clarity is rare in this market, and it’s deliberate.

How to start: three diagnostic engagements

Every engagement stands alone. None requires another first — no audit-before-intelligence, no snapshot-before-audit. Start wherever it fits your situation.

Snapshot (free). A no-cost AI Visibility look at your domain — your visibility score and category position, mentions and citations with their trends, distribution across the AI engines we track, your top-performing topics, and a handful of sample prompts with the answers the engines return. Delivered as a brief PDF or a 30-minute call that walks through the findings within 1–2 business days. Best for: a first look, with no commitment.

Audit (one month, fixed scope). A by-domain analysis across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and AI Mode. Engine-by-engine deep dive, cross-engine patterns, an SEO foundation and backlink review, a full technical AI Search audit, and recommendations prioritized in a four-tier framework. Delivered as a presentation over Zoom — the slides and the recording together are the report. Best for: a comprehensive baseline before you decide what to do next.

Intelligence (two months). The deepest diagnostic Telstar offers as a fixed-length project. A full month of AI Visibility data across ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, and Perplexity; AI-assisted analysis of your full site content against the prompts that matter; and a manual Claude assessment that fills the gaps the tooling doesn’t cover. Delivered as a presentation plus an Excel workbook. Best for: when you want depth and a two-month read on how the engines are trending, not a single point in time.

Beyond the diagnostics, Telstar handles the implementation work that follows — content strategy, content production, technical fixes, and an ongoing partnership for businesses that want AI Visibility as a continuous discipline. Those services come online in the next phase. For now, the three diagnostics above are the place to start.

Where to start

Three engagements, three depths. Where you start depends on what you want to know.

If you want a first look with no commitment, start with the Snapshot. If you want a comprehensive baseline before committing to changes, start with the Audit. If you want the deepest read, with a full month of data and manual analysis, start with Intelligence.

How we work

The work runs through three phases.

Research and mapping. Prompt research identifies the questions an audience is asking AI engines. Lens classification sorts those prompts by intent and buyer stage. Citation gap analysis identifies where competitors show up and where the space is empty.

Architecture and briefs. Pillar architecture defines the foundational topics a brand needs to own. Cluster mapping fills in the supporting content. Production briefs translate strategy into writing-ready specifications.

Production and measurement. Schema implementation so AI engines can parse and cite cleanly. Measurement on a monthly cadence, with citation tracking informing the next cycle of work.

The full methodology is documented in How we build an AI Visibility content plan. If you’re coming from traditional SEO and trying to understand what carries forward and what changes, From SEO to AI Visibility walks through the transition in detail.

The credibility point worth knowing: Telstar’s current client base has been with us for six to twelve years of continuous engagement. The methodology came together gradually — advanced SEO foundations and pillar/cluster strategy since around 2018, EEAT discipline as Google emphasized it, and explicit AI Visibility work since ChatGPT made AI Search a category in late 2022. The pillar/cluster work and EEAT discipline turned out to be exactly the foundation AI Visibility needed. Our long-term clients are ahead today because we kept pushing them to stay ahead then. ‘About’ covers the history and expertise behind the methodology.

Who’s this for

Connecticut and Northeast businesses that recognize AI Search as strategic and want to extend or build their search foundation.

Mid-market and upper-mid-market scale. The work suits manufacturers, healthcare practices, professional services firms, high-end B2C retailers, and other businesses where AI Visibility matters in the buyer journey — meaning prospects are asking AI engines about your category, offerings, or competitors.

The orientation is long-term. Telstar’s current client base has been with us for six to twelve years of continuous engagement — through advanced SEO, pillar architecture, EEAT discipline, and now AI Visibility. Each phase built on the last. That’s the time horizon search and visibility work compounds on — not the next quarter.

Who this isn’t for

Businesses primarily seeking paid media management. Telstar doesn’t run ad campaigns or handle programmatic media buying.

Brand-new businesses with no existing search foundation. AI Visibility builds on entity signals and authority that take time to accumulate — at a minimum, an established website, real customer history, and verifiable expertise that search engines can find. Pre-launch and zero-history businesses need a different kind of partner first.

Low-margin consumer products where unit economics don’t support engagement. AI Visibility consulting earns its keep when the lifetime value of an acquired customer is meaningful. Below that threshold, the math doesn’t work.

How engagements work

Engagement terms are straightforward. The paid diagnostics — the Audit and the two-month Intelligence study — begin with a written proposal outlining scope, deliverables, timeline, and the standard terms that protect both parties. The Snapshot is the exception: it’s free and asks nothing of you.

There are no annual contracts, auto-renewals, or scope ratchets. Once a project is complete, the relationship continues only if both parties agree it should.

The diagnostics are fixed-length engagements, so there’s nothing to cancel: the Audit and the Intelligence study each end when the project is complete. A 30-day notice applies only to an ongoing partnership — the one open-ended engagement. For us, that’s time to finish any work in progress cleanly; for you, time to transition. Beyond that, there’s no lock-in. The long-tenured client base reflects work worth continuing, not contractual obligation.

The methodology and process remain consistent across engagements, beginning with a discovery call to understand your situation. From there, a proposal outlines the scope, deliverables, and investment. The engagement includes regular check-ins as the work progresses, through delivery. Afterward, you have the option to continue into implementation work as those services come online — or not.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is AI Visibility consulting different from AI SEO?

They overlap substantially but emphasize different things. AI SEO emphasizes optimization techniques borrowed from traditional SEO and adapted for AI engines— such as schema markup, content structure, and citation-worthiness. AI Visibility consulting emphasizes the broader outcome — getting your brand visible and accurately described across AI engines, with optimization as one tool among several (alongside entity strategy, off-site authority, and content production). Telstar uses “AI Visibility” because the goal isn’t technical optimization for its own sake. The goal is being found.

Is an AEO agency the same as an AI Visibility consultant?

Functionally, yes — most of the time. Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the discipline of optimizing for answer-extraction systems, which now includes voice search, featured snippets, and AI engines. AI Visibility consulting covers the same territory plus the broader strategic work — entity signals, citation pursuit, off-site authority. If you’re searching for an “AEO agency,” “GEO agency,” or “LLMO consultant,” any of those terms describe roughly the same skill set under different names.

Do I have to start with a Snapshot or Audit before working with Telstar on something else?

No. Every engagement stands alone. You can start with a Snapshot, move straight to an Audit, or go directly to the two-month Intelligence study — whichever fits where you are. None requires another first. The architecture is deliberate: you should engage with what fits your situation, not work through a forced sequence.

How long is a typical engagement?

Depends on the engagement. The Snapshot takes 1–2 business days. The Audit takes one month. Intelligence takes two months. The implementation and ongoing partnership services come online in the next phase. Telstar’s current long-term client base ranges from six to twelve years of continuous engagement — through advanced SEO and now AI Visibility, with each phase building on the last. Search and visibility work compounds over time. For an ongoing partnership, we ask for 30 days’ notice if either side decides to end it.

How is an AI SEO agency different from a traditional SEO agency?

A traditional SEO agency optimizes for organic ranking on Google. An AI SEO agency — or AI Visibility consultant — optimizes for citations across multiple AI engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Claude. The technical foundations overlap (schema, content quality, authority). The discipline differs in three ways: the engines (six, not one), the metric (citation, not rank), and the content structure (passage-level extraction, not narrative). Most traditional SEO investment carries forward; what changes is what you build on top.

When should I hire an AI Visibility consultant?

Earlier than you might think. AI Visibility builds on entity signals, citation history, and content structure — all of which take time to accumulate. If your buyers are asking AI engines about your category, offerings, or competitors, and you’re not appearing in those answers, the cost of waiting compounds. The work doesn’t show results in two weeks. It shows results in two quarters, and the quarter after that, and the quarter after that.

What does AI Visibility consulting cost?

Telstar doesn’t publish pricing on the website because each engagement is scoped to specific business needs. The Snapshot is free. The Audit is a fixed-scope project with project-based pricing. Intelligence is a fixed-fee, two-month engagement. Pricing for any service is discussed during a discovery call, once we understand the actual scope.

About the Practice

Telstar Consulting is an independent AI Visibility practice based in Connecticut. It helps businesses show up accurately and often when buyers ask AI engines for recommendations, with SEO as the foundation. That matters because more buyers now begin inside AI engines than on search results pages, and a business the engines don’t name doesn’t make the shortlist.
